Youth hockey tryouts in Dallas-Fort Worth for 2027-28

By DFW Rink Guide · Published Oct 19, 2026

As of Oct 19, 2026, none of the DFW travel clubs we checked had posted dates for 2027-28 tryouts. For last season, the four clubs that published a tryout schedule held tryouts between May 30, 2026 and Jul 13, 2026, a 45-day window in late spring and early summer. If that pattern holds, expect 2027-28 dates to appear on club websites in spring 2027. This guide lists what each club published last season so you know what to watch for.

Club-by-club details

What clubs asked players to bring and do

Requirements differ, but last season's published pages had some things in common. Two clubs asked for both a light and a dark jersey. The Dallas Penguins required a current-season USA Hockey registration number before a player could try out. Two clubs (Dallas Stars Elite and the Penguins) planned fittings right after team selections, and Dallas Stars Elite asked selected families to register and pay the same night. Read your club's page closely, because these steps happen fast.
